Ran the Big CottonWood Marthon this morning- Went in to this without a lot of confidence....but had what I feel a good game plan for me. Let the body decided the pace, not the garmin. We started 30 minutes late, so that was not good. Temps were really nice for all the bad weather there has been in Salt Lake.

Splits: 6:46/ 6:52/ 6:47/ 6:47/ 7:01/ 6:56/ 6:56/ 6:52/ 7:22/ 7:01/ 7:12/ 6:53/ 6:44/ 6:24/ 7:03/ 6:23/ 6:49/ 6:50/ 7:41/ 8:01/ 8:50/ 10:11/ 8:53/ 8:39/ 9:52/ 9:51/ 9:04/ final .26 @ 7:21

Went out just taking it easy and letting the downslope guide the pace. I hung with the 3:15 pace group for around 8 miles if I remember right. Then I started to pull away and decidied to keep them behind me as long as possible, without pushing hard. The pacer passed me around 24, without anyone running with him. The top 18 miles were the sweetest miles I have ever run in a race! The last 6 miles were a beast! Just tried to survive......Race of my lifetime and I am now registered for Boston 2014 and waiting for a confirmation. 10:19 better than my qualify time

Now looking back......I spent 2 minutes taking my shoes off at mile 20+ I walked countless times in the last 6 miles.....Is sub 3:15 in the cards for me??? Well next year I will have to test it out. A new goal!
