Got out early for a club run. Started at top of Veyo for a 15 miler to the Stake Center. First mile warmup @ 8:28 then gradually picked up the pace but wanting to keep it slow. mile 2 7:53, at this point I knew I was going to have to be strong mentally to keep the guys in sight. mile3 7:38 not feeling too bad but not knowing how this run was going to go- so far running about a minute per mile faster than last weeks run and didn't know if I could keep it up. mile 4 7:19 pushing hard for me up those darn Dammeron Hills. Mile 5 6:57, good bye to the 7's for the rest of the run except for one up Winchester. 6:57/ 6:49/ 6:43/ 6:46/ 6:55/ 7:27/ 6:58/ 6:37/ 6:57 6:30 Average pace for the entire run 7:08, throw out the first mile of warmup and I have a 7:02 average. Now if I take the last 13.1 miles of the run I ran 1:29:20 which is a 3:26 minute PR for a Half Marathon.

Now I need to take it easy for the next 2 weeks and see what can happen at Utah Valley-

Thanks Steve, Bill, Mike and Ty for pushing me without knowing it- just tried to keep them in sight was a good method for me today-

Scott, I was really impressed with you today. Amazing what can happen when you relax and just let the pace come. Your in great shape! With proper pacing you are going to rock UV!!!

Thanks Clyde, one of the best- controlled runs I have had. I can only hope to run with the same confidence at UVM. I just need to run 7:35- 7:50 pace to have a very good race for me-
